What the San Antonio designs show
The Alamo front and its curved parapet, drawn in red engraving with the stonework hatched block by block, a prickly pear filling the left foreground and teal clouds stacked behind the roofline.
Stone is the ideal engraving subject and this building is almost nothing but stone. Every course of masonry is a drawn line, which is why the front holds together at 4x6 where a photograph of the same facade goes flat.
