What the Denver designs show
The Colorado State Capitol with its dome inked in gold leaf, the Front Range drawn in navy ridges behind it, and evergreens down the left edge. A second front pulls back to the skyline with the same peaks behind it and a flat gold sun.
The portrait card is the most detailed thing in the whole catalogue: a hand-drawn map with the mountains and the river, and labelled vignettes around it — bighorn sheep, the Capitol, a Colorado columbine, a ski lift, an evergreen, a beer stein, Red Rocks, and a mile marker reading 5280 feet.
When people send one
Ski season at both ends, and the summer trail months. Denver is usually the first or last day of a trip that happened somewhere else in the state, which makes it the day people have time to write.
