What the Boston designs show
The Old North Church steeple rising over a run of brick rooftops and chimneys, drawn in a single rust-red ink, with one small blue detail in the tower window — a lantern, which is the whole story of that steeple in one mark.
The rooftops in the foreground are what make it Boston rather than any New England town. It is a tight, close composition, and it prints well because there is no sky to lose.
When people send one
October, for the obvious reason, and graduation weekends in May, when a large number of people are in town specifically because somebody they love achieved something. That is a card, not a text.
