Send a photo postcard by mail

A photo postcard is one of your own pictures, printed on the front of a real postcard and mailed to somebody. Not a print in an envelope and not a digital card — a 4x6 postcard on glossy stock, with your handwriting-style message on the back and a stamp in the corner.

Send your photo postcard

What a photo postcard is

It is a postcard whose front is your photograph rather than a stock image of a landmark. The picture is printed edge to edge on 4x6 glossy cardstock, your message goes on the back, and it travels through the post like any other card — no envelope, nothing to unwrap.

Every postcard is printed on beautiful, thick cardstock with a vibrant, glossy finish to make your photo look its best. The standard size is 4x6 inches, just like a traditional postcard.

Uploading your photo

Choose a picture from your phone or computer. You position and crop it inside the card, pick landscape or portrait, and see the finished front before you pay. A photo from a modern phone camera is more than enough resolution for a card this size.

  • One photo per card — the front is a single image, not a collage.
  • Landscape or portrait, whichever suits the picture.
  • You see an exact preview of the front and the back before paying.

Writing the back

The message is set in a handwritten typeface, so a card reads like a postcard rather than a printed notice. This is the half people keep on the fridge, so it is worth more than the weather report — although the weather report is traditional.

Address and delivery

Enter the recipient address and we check it against postal records as you type, which is what stops a card being printed for a street that does not exist. Currently, we mail postcards to any valid mailing address within the United States. Delivery times are typically between 3 to 7 business days, depending on the destination. You will be notified once your card has shipped.

What happens to your photo

Your photo is used to print your card. It is not sold, published, or used to advertise anything, and it is not shown to other users. If you want it removed from your account afterwards, you can delete it.

Good reasons to send one

  • A photo from a trip, sent while the trip is still happening.
  • A new baby, a new dog, or a new house, to the people who want to see it.
  • A thank-you card, where the photo is of the thing you are thanking them for.
  • A photo of somebody who is no longer around, sent to somebody who loved them.

Frequently asked questions

What kind of photo works best on a postcard?

A picture with one clear subject, taken in reasonable light. Anything from a recent phone camera has plenty of resolution for a 4x6 card, and you see an exact preview before you pay.

What are the postcards like? What is the quality?

Every postcard is printed on beautiful, thick cardstock with a vibrant, glossy finish to make your photo look its best. The standard size is 4x6 inches, just like a traditional postcard.

Can I put more than one photo on a card?

The front is a single image. If you want to send several photos, send several cards — a pack of credits brings the price per card down.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery times are typically between 3 to 7 business days, depending on the destination. You will be notified once your card has shipped.
