What the Louisville designs show
The twin spires of Churchill Downs above the grandstand roof, drawn in rust engraving, with the track rail and the green infield curving away in the foreground.
The spires have been the shorthand for this city since 1895, and they are drawn here in the muted orange and green of a card that has been in a drawer for fifty years. That is the intended effect throughout the catalogue.
