What the Philadelphia designs show
The Liberty Bell drawn large in bronze ink, crack and yoke and all, with Independence Hall and its clock tower behind it in blue on the left of the card.
Two inks and two subjects, sized against each other so the bell is clearly the point. Engraving suits metal — you can see the casting lines, which a photograph behind glass never gives you.
When people send one
