What the Dallas designs show
Reunion Tower — the ball on the stalk — drawn large in red on the right of the card, with the rest of downtown behind it in navy engraving, including the wedge-shaped tower with the notch out of its side.
Two inks doing two jobs: red for the thing you remember, navy for the city it stands in. It reads instantly at postcard size, which is more than most skylines manage.
When people send one
Business trips, mostly, and the State Fair in autumn. Dallas is one of the most flown-into cities in the country, and a card is a good way to prove you left the airport.
It is also a city full of people who moved here from somewhere colder, and cards back to the place they left are a steady part of what goes out. Usually in January, and usually mentioning the weather.
