What the New Orleans designs show
St Louis Cathedral and its three spires, drawn in purple ink, seen over the iron fence of Jackson Square with a gas lamp standing at either side and a gold fleur-de-lis in the corner. Banana leaves fill the lower left. Purple and gold, which is not a coincidence in this city.
